The American Civil War was one of the greatest and deadliest wars in American history. This was the battle between the Union and Confederate states of America. The eleven southern Confederate states, led by Jefferson Davis, fought for independence from the Unites States. The Confederate states fought against the Union states, led by Abraham Lincoln, which were also called the Free states.
